Edgy Fall Home Decor Ideas

Edgy Fall Home Decor Ideas

Looking for some new fall decor to switch up the style in your home? With the weather getting cooler and Halloween slowly approaching, now's a great time to look for some edgy, gothic- inspired decor to add to your bedroom, living room, bathroom, and more!

Gothic-Inspired Flower Bouquets

Desire to Inspire

I particularly love the pop of red roses against the very dark color scheme. If roses aren't your thing, go for another flower or plant that will add a bold statement to your home.

You can place single flowers in clear vases, or opt for flower bouquets for a more intense presence in the room. Pair the flower arrangements with simple candles for a soft, romantic glow.

Antique Dolls

Antique dolls are not your typical home decor, but they can add a really cool vintage touch. The above display is a bit more dramatic than most people would prefer in their day- to- day home (it's obviously more suited to Halloween), but by all means, do whatever your heart desires!

Vintage stores and thrift shops are great places to find antique dolls that can be displayed during any season, but especially during Halloween- time. Place one of these creepy dolls near the entrance of your home, or sitting on a bookshelf for a Halloween party.

Decorative Pillows

New decorative pillows are one of the easiest ways to switch up the decor in your home. For the fall, focus on darker colors and unique patterns that will add visual interest to any room. I like to tie in patterns that go well with my pre- existing decor, so nothing feels out- of- place.

I love pillows in the image above. While this room is completely monochromatic, pops of red, purple, orange, and yellow are great options for fall colored decor.

My favorite thing about decorative tapestries is that they can add so much to a room in one simple step. Go for an edgy, yet bohemian feel by adding a magical night tie-dye tapestry like the one featured above.

Keep this boho theme consistent by adding some indoor plants and focus on earthy tones like dark brown, army green, burgundy, and black.

Animal Skeletons and Antlers

Skull decor screams 'dark and moody' - but you can put a new spin on a traditionally Gothic motif by opting for something a little different.

For a small decoration that takes up minimal wall space but has a big impact, hang up a deer or bison skull (real or fake). You can go for a more bohemian approach by adding a flower crown to the skull, or choose a gothic- inspired look by spray painting the skull black.

Dark Curtains and Fairy Lights

While I love dark colored decor, it is easy for a room to look a lot smaller when there is too much black in one space. For this reason, I love the idea of draping fairy lights over black curtains to keep enough light circulating the room. Fairy lights will add warmth and comfort to your room, while the dark curtains will maintain your alternative style.

Victorian- Inspired Candles

Green Wedding Shoes

Go for an Addams Family concept with a tall, Victorian- inspired candle set at your dinner table. If you're feeling a bit extra, you can totally also go for a giant flower arrangement as a centerpiece. Tie your kitchen decor all together by adding a velvet table runner, and serve your drinks in fancy glasses just because you can.

Bath Products

Beauty Crafter

When you're updating your home decor for fall, it can be easy to overlook the bathroom!

These DIY skull bath bombs can be a great activity for guests to make at a fall- themed party. Place a few of these bath bombs out on a black tray near your bathroom sink for a spooky, good- smelling display. Or, make a bunch of them and invite guests to bring one home as a party favor!
