Pastel Hair

Almost a year ago, I wrote an article explaining the pastel goth look, when the trend of having a lighter crowning glory was still taking social media by storm. Though some still enjoy the "broke bitch" hair trend (dark and light ombre), many are saying hello to lighter locks! It's very much similar to pastel goth for the color of choice except for pairing it with dark lips and gothic accessories.

Check out Instagram, Pinterest, or Tumblr and you'll see fun shots posted by pretty girls with curly, straight or wavy cotton candy hair. Even celebrities swapped their usual look and tried to lighten their locks and joined as it is now the hottest 2015 hair trend next to Marsala colors.

Today we’ll be sharing some tips that you can do to with your pastel hair. This is a bit different for the Pastel Goth hair accessories because this time we’re focusing on the looks that have been popular at festivals like Coachella, or for anyone who is into the pastel colors without the goth look. Let you hair be festival, beach party or BBQ party ready!

1. Flowers

Be it big flowers, small flowers, or crowns; floral touches are definitely a must-have to pair with your waves or braids. You can pin it one by one to your hair, or have a crown made of different flowers, it can be fresh or not.. but flower crowns are easily and readily available everywhere now.

2. Braids

Incorporating braids with boho style is possible and nothing screams summer ready like beautifully done hair braids! Don’t know how to do one? There are a lot of tutorials on Youtube and Pinterest. The hard part is deciding! There’s fishtail, waterfalls, and more. You can braid all of your hair and embellish it with flowers, or curl it/crimp it and have the top part braided.

3. Ribbon

For a simple yet classic look, ribbons were a must. Just one big plain looking ribbon will do. It looks best on half-tied styled hair, or hair tied in a bun.

4. Head piece

A beautiful embellishment that makes you feel you’re a royal. It’s perfect if you don’t want stray hairs in front of your face yet at the same time you still want to look fabulous.

5. Mohawk

If being all girly is not your thing or you just like short hair; you can try this amazing look like Kelly Osbourne did. Shave the side of your head and do funky hairstyles for the middle. Be sure to use a strong hold setting spray or any gel type hair product to hold the hair. If you’re not brave enough to shave your head, you can try the faux hawk look. Just section your hair into 3 parts, pull it up and tie it, curl the lower part then make several pin curls in a one line pattern and use bobby pins/hair clips for it to stay in its place.

6. Pin up style

Who says pastel colors aren’t good for victory rolls? Try to incorporate your look with some classy pin up or modern rockabilly looks by doing pin curls, pin up rolls and even pin up bangs.

7. Turbans

For those who are too lazy to style their hair and for those who are not into fancy headpiece, a turban is the solution for that simple problem. You can also hide a bit a darker root that has regrown, and will keep your hair away from your face.

Have you tried dyeing and styling your hair like these Rebels? I myself would want to rock this look if only I could take good care of it. (Pastel hair does require a lot of upkeep) I’m encouraging you Rebels to play up with your hair and try all these hairstyles and hair colors. Let your inner rainbow from the inside come out from your hair!
