We already know our Facebook fans include some of the coolest moms and that many have wonderful things to say about the women who raised them. Mother's Day is the perfect excuse to spoil these amazing ladies and we asked our Facebook fans to tell us about some of their favorite holiday memories. The responses ranged from hilarious to heart wrenching and all displayed how important the impact of Moms can be.
Here's a look at some of the stories we received -
Donna's response shows that sometimes time spent together is better than any gift-
Oh goodness I'm sure it was mid 80's....I had 3 young sons that I felt adored me!! Their dad and I were on a tight budget and there was not any extra money.. I walked out onto the porch and my husband came around the corner of our home with our sons and a huge green watermelon with a red ribbon and bow painted on it!! We chilled it and sat out at the picnic table and had the most memorable afternoon....Over the years I have had really nice costly gifts but this is the one I really cherish!!!!
Becky let us know that sometimes, those dads can be pretty awesome too-
2004 my daughter was 3 months old and I went to check on her and there was a small box sitting at her feet. I open the box to find a ring with our birthstones in it . Brought tears to my eyes
Lori's kids MAY have spent summer at cooking camp after her special day-
My children, 5 and 9 at the time, made me breakfast in bed. A lovingly made tuna and green bean omelet which they joyfully sat to watch me eat. This was not a joke, they were truly proud of their creation!
You have to admire their spirit.
And Lulu and her sisters....
Trying to make the perfect cake for mommy with my little sis and failing like a thousand times until we made it and had ruined the whole kitchen and we brought mom the cake to bed and she was sooo happy and then wanted to go downstairs to get a cup of coffee and we locked the kitchen door and told her the dog had pooped into the kitchen.
Rachel gave a shining example of how timing can be everything
My daughter was born the day before mothers day. My first mothers day was her first full day on the earth. Precious day.
For some people, holidays can be a difficult time to face memories of loved ones they have lost. We always appreciate the members of our RebelsMarket community but we have to say; we are truly touched that so many were willing to share those memories with us.
We want to wish all the RebelMoms a Happy Mother's Day!
