1. Layers

This really doesn’t need much explaining. When it’s going to be cold and wet, you’re going to want to want to keep yourself warm first and foremost. Layering not only helps to prevent you from wearing a soaking wet outfit all day, but it is also an extremely trendy fashion statement. Try pairing a sweater with a cargo jacket and accessorize with a scarf and calf high boots to keep the soggy weather out.

2. Beanies

Beanies, in my opinion will never go out of style. While there are days when you may not want to wear them, they’re a great way to keep your hair from getting soaked through and will keep your head nice and toasty warm. Beanies can be found in countless colors, patterns, and even weights. Pairing a thick knit beanie with a sweater dress is a classic and fashionable look.

3. Hats

Just like beanies, hats of all kinds such as an oversized fedora are extremely useful when it’s raining. This is especially true if you find yourself out in the rain without an umbrella. Try a fedora with a rich jewel tone to help liven up your outfit.

4. Cargo Jackets or oversized jackets

Oversized is in right now, an oversized cargo jacket or other stylish jacket not only will keep out the rain, it’ll give your chosen outfit a little bit of a much needed edge. Paired with jeans and a comfortable pair of heels, a cargo jacket can set off your look.

5. Bring out your tights

If you absolutely must wear a dress to work, you may want to consider wearing tights or stockings. They’re a wonderful and tasteful way of keeping your legs warm in a rain storm. Tights can also pair well with a jacket and a scarf. However, if you’re going to wear tights or stockings to your workplace, it is best to keep it casual. Steer clear of any vibrant or off-putting colors that may not be suited to the workplace. If you’re out and about for the day, all bets are off, feel free to accessorize your outfit with your favorite pair of tights or leggings.
