Are you looking to add a touch of vintage to your work wardrobe? Retro looks are a great way to stand out in the office and bring a unique, timeless style to any outfit. From bold patterns to bright colors, there are plenty of options to choose from. In this article, we'll explore some of the best retro-inspired looks for the workplace and how to wear them with confidence.

Work can be a terribly boring ordeal, no-one likes the drudgery of the day to day, but it is easy to brighten up your day with one simple thing, a great outfit and the confidence to match. It can make all the difference to your day if you have some killer heels and an eye-catching style. Be expressive with your look, so that even if you are stuck in a dull office, at least you can brighten up the place. Retro fashion history is rich and this style of fashion has become extremely popular recently, represented wonderfully in the movie remake of Hairspray, and sported by the likes of Lana-Del Rae and Paloma Faith, but this look isn’t just for celebrities, it can be turned into a great everyday style for the workplace.

At RebelsMarket we have a great array of retro clothing, dresses, accessories and tops. This article will show you some clothing that can be used in a vintage fashion look, and that is all available at RebelsMarket.

Step One: The Outfit

Choosing your outfit is important, obviously, as it will express your individuality and style. There are lots of options when it comes to a retro look, and the best place to start is with a dress.

Elegance is key to this style.Mix up your look with colour or black vintage womens dresses. You can never go wrong with a black dress. These retro, elegant designs are perfect for work. Peplum designs and pencil skirts are great as they show off your great curves with just the right amount of sexy. Make sure to match them up with a simple jacket or coat for the outdoors. You also want to look fab as you make your way to work.

Step Two: Accessories

Every stylish look needs a touch of something special, and at RebelsMarket we have the perfect vintage accessories to finish off a retro fashion look. Be it necklace, bangles or a belt to suck in that waist, women of the 50's always had accessories. If you want to achieve a light, retro style that is fun and sophisticated try wearing this red 50s inspired dress with a cute butterfly necklace, cool handbags and sexy shoes.

Step Three: Shoes

Shoes are the best accessory to dress up an outfit. When it comes to a sophisticated retro look for the workplace high heel shoes are an important finishing touch to any retro look.

These cute, cherry red shoes look great with a pleated black dress, red necklace and bracelettes. The great thing about these shoes is that they can make even the simplest of outfits fun, and can show your style easily and effectively.

Step 4: Hair and make-up

The last step is of course hair and makeup. Classic designs of big bonnets and bright red lips are effective and fun with any retro outfit. To create a more subtle look you might want to try a light lip gloss and teased hair with a patterned hairband.

Stay with neutral shadows on the lids, using a touch of shimmer where you like, to help wake up the eyes. Blush up your cheeks with a nice cream blush, applied sparingly to the apples of the cheeks. Lips are a matter of taste. A muted matte shade looks nice for day time, while still retaining a retro feel. Keep your hair curly by sleeping with roller sets. So when you wake up in the morning, just unroll, brush, spray into place, and go!

Whatever variation of the retro style you decide to go for,  it should be colorful but simplistic in a workplace setting. Have fun with retro fashion and set yourself apart.
