This painting is of an Gabonese woman called Ngando. She is singing songs from the shamanic tradition of Bwiti. Painted as one of a tryptych to celebrate and honour the music of this tradition. The visual distortions represent the effects of large quantities of the psychotropic rootbark, Iboga, consumed in large quantities during initiation into the tradition. Print size - 425 X 630mm.
