Such a work of art that this superb watch movement requires no further embellishment.
1899 to 1932, Buren was the Swiss factory of H. Williamson, Ltd, an
English company. Williamson, bought a watch factory in Switzerland and
created the Buren Watch Company. A number of models in standard sizes
were offered. Ads in the 1920's proclaimed Buren to be "The Perfect
Watch" and boasted of the linking up of Swiss watch manufacturing with
British Enterprise and Capital. This came to an end during the Great
Depression and Buren came to be an independent Swiss firm. This occurred
in 1932 when the employees bought the plant and it became The Buren
Watch Co. The Buren "grand Prix" movement was considered the finest to
come out of the factory, and date from around 1935.
This offering is a strictly LIMITED EDITION, i have only 2 of these 80 year old movements available in mint condition.
movement sits in a 925 silver plated finding, and the listing shows a
316L stainless steel chain, a little longer and thicker than our usual
chains, and suitable for the male Steampunk or affictionado of horology.
Equally it would sit as a long necklace for the female of the species,
or we can change the chain for something shorter and more feminine in
925 sterling silver upon request.
This stunning necklace will be gift boxed FREE of charge.
