Rolling Stones Merch

The Rolling Stones, a famous English rock band formed in 1962 in London, has withstood the test of time. The popularity of the Rolling Stones has only grown throughout the years. Their music is often heard on your favorite radio station or found on Rolling Stones T-shirts, hoodies, or other band merch walking around town on the backs of their fans.

The original lineup of The Rolling Stones included band leader Brian Jones on guitar, harmonica, and keyboards, Keith Richards on guitar and vocals, Mick Jagger on lead vocals and the harmonica, Bill Wyman on bass, Charlie Watts on drums, and Ian Stewart on Piano. However, Stewart was removed only a year later in 1963 from the official line up, only making cameos as a contracted musician until he passed in 1985.

When first starting, they were known for playing covers. However, the Rolling Stones found much more success with their songs such as “Paint it Black” and “I Can’t Get no Satisfactiorsonan.”

The current line up you’ll find on modern Rolling Stones merch includes Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, and Ronnie Wood. The list of official band members has decreased over the years, but it hasn't affected their sound. The band has employed several musicians to take on the keyboardist role since 1963, such as Jack Nitzsche, Billy Preston, Ian McLagan, Chuck Leavell, and Billy Preston.

As a staple in the rock and roll world, The Rolling Stones had a front-row seat to the British Invasion of bands that became popular in the United States during the 1964 influx of international music to the states. The United States youth seemed to eat up the heavy sounds produced by bands such as The Rolling Stones as they ignited a rebellious counterculture of the late 1960s.

The Rolling Stones dabbled in different genres. While The Rolling Stones played psychedelic rock in the mid-1960s, they quickly returned to their blues and rock and roll roots. With the studio album Beggars Banquet released in 1968, their sound returned, which was followed by many other popular albums released over the decades.

It was in 1989 that The Rolling Stones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the UK Hall of Fame in 2004. These, of course, are only a couple of the many prestigious recognitions that they have received over the years.

Since their debut, they have released 30 studio albums, 23 live albums, and several complications. Their album, Let it Bleed was the first of many Number 1 studio and live albums in the United Kingdom. Sticky Fingers was the beginning of eight Number 1 studio albums in the United States.

In 2012 The Rolling Stones celebrated their 50th anniversary and continue to release albums and had continued to sell out venues with their No Filter Tour which started on September 2017 and concluded on August 2019.
