I originally built this piece to bring with me to my very first Ottawa Comic-Con :) I'm a big fan of Magic the Gathering and every weekend a bunch of friends get together to play. This is where I got the inspiration behind this box.
This box is perfect to store your deck of cards whether it be the traditional 60 card deck or the commander version with 100 cards, either one will fit and have room for a cube of dice on the side :) If you're not the card type, you can always use it as a jewelry box for your special pieces, either way it's sure to please!
The box is made from wood that I stained by hand in a beautiful cherry wood color. The box measures about 8 inches long and 5 inches tall.
All the skulls and bones were hand sculpted by me, no molds were used, ever.
At the top of the box is a skull with a stone like appearance, surrounding it are a bunch of tiny little bones ( personally I think they are adorable looking :P )
At the bottom and all the way around the sides are stacks of larger bones and among them you can find some skull heads varying in sizes, each in a different position with different degrees of details and shading to them to add more depth.
Everything is solidly glued down with strong adhesives and varnished as well to protect the painted details.
On the inside, the bottom is lined with some thick black felt. And on the inside of the lid is a painted on quote that I thought was fitting, it reads:
"Beyond pain, beyond obsession and wild despair, there lies a place of twisted power only the most tormented souls can reach. "
The box closes with a latch situated at the front.
This item will be shipped in lots of bubble wrap to protect it.
