Keeping no finished inventory sounds inefficient until you understand the problem we are trying to solve: standard inventory assumes standard bodies.

Most footwear and jackets are made before the customer exists. A brand decides how many units of each size to produce, stores them, then waits for someone whose body is close enough to that size.

That is efficient for inventory. It is less efficient for people whose proportions fall between or outside standard assumptions.

Inventory forces the fit decision to happen months before the customer arrives

A standard size can describe approximate length or chest circumference, but it cannot fully describe width, instep, heel shape, calf circumference, sleeve length or the relationship between shoulders and torso.

When a finished item is already sitting in a warehouse, those decisions are locked.

Made after order changes the sequence

Our process begins with the style you choose. We then collect the fit information needed for the category. Only then does the workshop make the product.

This does not mean every product is bespoke in the traditional tailoring sense. It means we are not forced to pretend that a size label is all the information available.

The tradeoff is time

The obvious cost of making after order is that you do not receive the product tomorrow. Production generally takes about 7 to 10 business days, followed by typical shipping of about 3 to 5 business days.

We think that tradeoff makes sense for products expected to be worn for years, particularly when fit is one of the main reasons customers struggle to buy footwear or jackets in the first place.

The benefit is not endless customization

The goal is not to make every possible design variation. The goal is to use the information that matters most before the item is built.

For us, made after order is less about novelty and more about sequence: fit information first, production second.
