Year Round Fashion Trend: How to Wear Cute Floral Dresses In Cold Weather

When the temperatures start to dip, it can be hard to find fashionable and cute clothing that is appropriate for the weather. But don’t let the cold weather stop you from rocking a cute outfit – floral dresses are a perfect way to stay stylish and cozy all season long. In this article, we’ll explore how you can wear cute floral dresses in cold weather, so you can stay fashionable and warm all year round.

Just because spring is around the corner doesn't necessarily mean the weather is any less wintery!

And, when it's bitter cold out, it's a little hard to find the motivation to put on any outfit with more than two colors. And when I say two colors, I'm talking about black and darker black.

One of the best ways to incorporate some color and pattern into your early spring wardrobe is to wear a floral dress - layered for warmth, of course. Take a peak below for some winter floral inspiration to keep your outfit - and mood - in high spirits!

Pair Floral Dresses With Leather

Option A is to pair your favorite floral dress with tights and slip on a leather jacket. The combination of floral patterns and sleek leather will give you a feminine, yet edgy look for serious outfit goals. One tip for pulling off winter florals is to focus on finding a dress with darker colors - and that doesn't mean it has to be black! Burgundy, deep green, navy blue, charcoal gray, and purple are always good go-to colors for the colder seasons.

If you're going for a dark outfit, there are other ways to add in some color. Add a pop of cherry red lipstick or nail polish, or tote around a bright colored bag.

Add Warmth With Layers

If you're opting to save some cash so you don't have to buy a completely new outfit, try layering a floral slip dress that's already in your closet over a form-fitting long sleeve tee. You can keep this outfit simple by wearing a solid color tee shirt underneath your dress, or go for a more eclectic style by mixing shirt patterns like stripes or polka dots. Keep your look on trend by adding a simple choker necklace and a pair of oversized sunglasses. Your street cred has just been boosted, you're welcome.

Keep it Bright

For an outfit that pops, don't be afraid to wear a floral dress with bright colors! You can keep your outfit toned down by wearing a knee-length peacoat over your dress, and by adding a neutral colored belt around your waist to accentuate your shape. For colder temperatures, make sure to wear your best pair of fleece-lined tights and booties to complete your look!

Always Accessorize

For a look I'd like to call "Audrey Hepburn With A Twist", sport a floral midi dress paired with a bomber jacket. This outfit is all about the accessories, so play around with jewelry, sunglasses, shoes, and bags to customize your look. Add cateye sunglasses and a pearl necklace (or faux pearl - ain't nobody got time for that) for a modern twist on classic accessories.
